Last month, I had the pleasure of shooting in one of the most visually striking locations I’ve ever worked in: Manoir Blackswan. I had wanted to shoot there since it opened in 2020, but due to the cost, I had to wait for a group collaboration.

This place doesn’t just whisper luxury—it shouts it from every chandelier, velvet drape, and piece of antique furniture. The manor is a maximalist dream, equal parts old-world elegance and cinematic fantasy. It’s the kind of place where light hits just right on antique mirrors and marble floors. Every room is a backdrop begging for drama.
We started in the so-called Red Room, a Victorian-style parlour where, as the name suggests, everything is drenched in ruby tones. The natural light, whether pouring through the windows or diffused by the curtains, made the reds come alive. To contrast this, the model wore a black dress paired with gold jewelry.
Next, we moved to the Mirror Room. With its softer tones and romantic atmosphere, we chose a short pink dress. I made full use of the many mirrors to create interesting compositions.

Then came the Chinoiserie Room, inspired by Chinese design. The model wore a stunning red silk kimono that stood out beautifully against the vibrant yellow walls. The kimono lent itself to a series of sensual shots, allowing the model to suggestively reveal just enough to create allure.

We wrapped up the shoot in the opulent marble bathroom. We began with standing poses by the large mirror, the model still in the red kimono, which she eventually slipped off entirely. The sunlight hitting the bronze mirror frame cast gorgeous highlights on her skin. We also made full use of the antique bathtub and spacious walk-in shower.
What made this shoot truly electric was how the location elevated every frame. A glance became a statement; a pose by the window turned into a cinematic moment. The décor—gilt mirrors, antique furnishings, eclectic accents, and velvet drapes—was more than just a setting. It was a character in the story, adding depth and emotion to every shot.
This shoot reminded me: the right location isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a catalyst. Manoir Blackswan brought something unforgettable to every moment.
The two hours we had only allowed me to explore about a third of the mansion. I’ll definitely be going back.
